RIBOFLAVIN AND MIGRAINE

Dosing yourself
with the B-vitamin riboflavin may be one
way to prevent migraine headaches. Belgian
researches treated 55 migraine patients
with daily doses of either 400 milligrams
(that's about 200 times the RDA) of riboflavin
or a placebo.
After three
months, 59 percent of those who had the
riboflavin supplement reported a 50 percent
reduction in migraine headaches compared
to only 15 percent of the subjects in the
placebo group.
Since there
were few side effects associated with the
high riboflavin may doses, the researchers
suggested that riboflavin may hold hope
for migraine sufferers. |
